Shotgun bolt carrier repair question.

if u can file it it is soft. if it just runs over the top and doesnt cut its hard .oxy acet and braze would be the quickest and easyest and a quck rub up

It marks it ok, the bolt itself is untouched.

my mate has an 8 shot pump on S1. its scary how fast you can release 8 shots with it

A friend does practical with a Rem 1100 that has a full length mag on it, I think he gets 10+1 in there. It's a lot of firepower but has to be the worst balanced gun I've ever fired.

take it back to soft in a forge , if it's not case hardened ?
But it would be pretty distorted after all that.

can you TIG weld or silver solder hardened metal ?

Hi guys I had a disaster with my remmy 100 as I knocked it over whilst removing the barrell for cleaning. It broke the forend support & the arm on the action bar . I`ve welded up the action bar as both medway (An american co.) & chambers gunmakers (uk co.) are out of stock. Chambers do have the forend support wich I`ll order, just got to wait before I can test it to see if it`ll hold up.

Thank you for the link, just looking on there you are quite right, the part is only $14, the shipping however is $44. Midway don't list them unfortunately.

Yes, they can be had on a section 2 (shotgun) certificate with a magazine capacity of 2 + one up the spout, just the same as semi-autos. If the magazine capacity is over 2 they go on section 1 (Firearm) as a high capacity shotgun.

This one is a section 2 though I do still have an unfilled slot for a section 1.

Looks to me like there is enough thickness to "V" out, Mig weld and dress off flush again.

No way of knowing whether its hardened or case hardened but will be surprised if its anything other than a MS.

If cant generate the heat plus get silver solder and flux, for what it is I would Mig it, worst case you'll get blow holes but will be stronger than the tatty spot weld.
Better quality would have been dovetailed in or made in one.

Suppose by time bought proper silver solder and give someone some pennies it will exceed the cost from US.
