Shot, sand blasting

Hi All , have been in contact with a firm , price depends on time taken , so how long would it take to blast a landy wheel front and back only ....... inside rims are like new,

Depends what theyre using to blast it and how much paint/dross is on the wheel..... if theres one layer of paint, not much in the way of rust and theyre simple wheels, you can do them in about 5-10mins each in a cabinet easily, and about half that time in a room. Usually though wheels have been coated more than once, and at least one of the layers will be a bitch to remove, couple that with the fact that most wheels will need hitting from many angles to get it all off, and youre usually looking at around 20mins/wheel to do properly in a cabinet.

Hi , thanks for that, the backs of the wheels have one coat of black and some rust, the fronts primer and 1 top coat and a few rust spots,here's a pic about the average [

The ,mention of citric acid has piqued my interest , I have a 65 l plastic drum , the wheels will fit in if I cut the narrow part off , assuming 30 litres of solution how much citric acid should I buy to make an efficient removal of the rust from the wheels please ( 1 at a time )

I've tried the citric acid method & whilst it does work it's slow, especially if you don't heat the solution & not great at stripping anything painted.

I've had much better results with electrolysis for rust removal, especially anything with heavy rust & paint. Lots of info online about it & on this forum.
