Shot Blasting - Sheffield member?

For the life of me, I cannot recall who on here has the shot blasting kit to do the big stuff?

I'm almost certain they're from Sheffield.

I've got a chassis coming as soon as I organise a trailer, which I'm going to be stripping down for painting and then use to replace to 23 year old chassis under my Pajero after any repairs.

I've had a ridiculous quote from Scunthorpe Powder Coatings, triple what I bought the chassis for. I wasn't impressed with how some other stuff came back either and they tried to charge me to sort their defects out.

I'd also prefer to keep an individual in business from the forum too if possible ..

Yes but not that big I'm afraid - just declined to do a Merc Chassis (from Lincs as it happens) this morning. Broadblast in Sheffield may be your best bet.

Many thanks for the other company lead, I shall investigate further. Although, I may end up purchasing the outfit myself as I've a couple of larger items to consider.

i hope u have a lot of open space and a fat wallet . blast helmet road tow comp and a good pot wont be cheap

Lots of open space for sure. Got an area 15m x 10m used as overflow storage at the moment which I could turn in to a blasting area. Neighbours may be a little funny about it though, although I could use a spare barn at the farm.

In laws have a road tow comp.

Worrying thing is, I'm pricing the kit up now!

might be cheaper to hire a mobile pot and a helmet for the weekend then .buy half a ton of grit and get blasting your half way there as the comp hire would be the dearest
