Shortening valves

Cosworth motors had sodium filled exhausts, I dropped the valves in a cyl on mine, the valves are stuffed up the ports, no sign of the sodium filling!


I have successfully altered valves but when I needed a set of extremely large head small stem valves for something, I ended up at G&S. A set of
custom valves cost me less than a set of stock valves would have cost!

Have done this to a MG1100 12G295 Head, couldn't get any replacement valves. So used 1275 Metro inlet valves. Had the valve reduced in size and the stem shortened, after measuring the spring height I found shims where required to restore the correct fitted height.

Just had a quote back from G&S (Thanks, Graffian) and they'll be about £28 each, inc vat. Not bad!
