ive never stopped working. quite a lot of old folk mainly fixing faults on wiring replacing faulty lights the only thing I don't do is give em a hug and a kiss and keep a yard away . its impossible not to go anywhere without touching stuff anywhere then poke your nose scratch your bum or rub your eye . I got a kit given other week and tested ok touch wood how long for I don't know . just get on with life or it wont be worth living

Have you spent 2 weekend at the beach.
Have you been on the highstreet shopping bi-weekly.
Had your friends and family around for BBQs and eat out a few times a week.

at times like these
them that can't do the job, Teach, them that can't teach get a highly paid job with a bril pension in Government.....
that way they can really xugger things up so they then get a job for life........

I live a 10 hour ferry ride from Athens, loads'a building work going on.......no shortages of anything.....
for the odd thing it's normal to come from Athens, Ikea and the like.....2days or 3 at the worst then delivered.....
just bought loads'a plumbing stuff.....
no probs.....all the builders merchants are stocked.....
work is as normal except for the hoiday industry......
this is still very slow but building up.....
every where in public a mask must be worn but other than that life is normal...
if ur local and they know u nobody bothers......typical Island life....eh.....
so far I think there's been only 8 cases of the dreaded on the island and they were all tourists.....!!!!!

The whole mask thing is getting silly. If you come to my place and you want to use the range, no problem, no mask required. IF however you want to buy something (shop) you need to put a mask on. I am getting to the point where I cannot keep up with it.

Just going about ones job likely carries more risk than any other scenario, so to say that I am what sceptical of any of the measures put in place would be an understatement. Plus, I observe peoples behaviour daily, which makes me even more so.

the wholesalers I use have a table so that if u return anything it has to be left 24 hours before they can re stock it best laugh is theres delivery trucks going there umpteen times a day dropping of gear then put in stock instantly and passed over to you. we have to wear masks but the staff don't its stupidity everyone should wear them or not bother at all

Especially as viruses can live on surfaces for over 72 hours

just got a new tall larder fridge from my mates shop . took 4 weeks to get it . most his stuff is a couple of weeks to get . now its getting worse as most of the parts that firms had have run out of stock so the new appliances cant be built went to the autojumble today and the paint guy I know wasn't there. last month he said he was running out of stock as he had sold it all so never went today . its not getting better far from it

Try finding a local shop with a 6mm Drill/Tap combi.

The new glazing units I had fitted two weeks ago apparently had to sit for five days, for hygiene purpose, in the warehouse, before they could fit them in my house.

I had two forms, and two online ‘interviews’ about Covid, security, personal safety etc etc, before the guys would be allowed to fit them.

When the guys turned up to install them you’d think it was just another normal day, no masks, no drama, no distancing etc etc. Job done in two hours.

If I didn’t know better, if my ex wife NHS worker hadn’t been off sick with Covid for 8 weeks, then I’d seriously think the whole thing IS a government scam.

Agreed. Although you just mentioned two subjects the admin really don't like . . It's hard not to mention them when. Those two things ARE life at the moment.
As most know on here my wife is disabled from a severe stroke 20 years ago and has approx 30 tablets a day so her immune system is poor. She sleeps 2 hours in the day most days.

So when she left here on a stretcher in March I thought that was the last I would see of her ever.
I can't explain w,my hatred for the people in charge, how hard it is to see the whole picture.

As an example someone mentioned double glazing.....I was able to go to a unit, walk in , pick up my two units and fit them inside an hour..... But why....I seriously don't know. But I do know it feels almost normal as I don't go to pubs, or cinema or opera etc.
I see all the lockdown neighbours back to work.

But anywhere I do go has vastly reduced stock of many many things...

I haven't done any of the above apart from the odd go to shop to get milk and bread if wifey has run out and go to the sarny shop ive only seen my daughter at my house 5 times when this has started and that's for only hafan hour at a time no one else has been in my house just to add I spray my hands before ienter the punters houses and again when I leave

Depends on the job. I've had close contact with 2 people other than my wife and kids since March while fitting their staircase.
Screwfix toolstation selco Travis are the only places I've visited and all have good distancing measures in place. Home shopping is all click and collect.

What difference has it made to my life.
Not much tbh. Bit more planning the day before to collect materials. Small price

Biggest change will be home schooling
