Yep, every timeDoes no one not use the £1 selling fees when it’s offered?
I do this too.Speaking to a mate of mine this morning,
He sells a fair bit of stuff on ebay, normally hand/power toos and the like.
He's stopping it as ebay are now changing to paying you directly into your bank account.
What he likes to do is sell stuff on ebay as a "hobby" and then the money in his paypal account is play money for him to buy his own toys with.
He reckons if it goes into his bank account what does not get wasted on bills and mortgage payments will get spotted by swmbo and not be any use to him anyway.
That's pretty much how I use my paypal account as well, that's money I get from selling stuff I don't need so I feel like it's ok to use it to buy more stuff I don't need.
I wonder how many people are doing the same thing?
Is that so hard to believe? Is it really just so they can cut the middleman out, and get more profit?
Ebay own paypal so it would have made sense that if Paypal was profiting, then ebay was also profiting... but hey ho.Is that so hard to believe?
I keep stuff that will go £100+ until the offer appears then stick it on, last one was a stationary engine water pump I sold for £425 so saved £40 in feesDoes no one not use the £1 selling fees when it’s offered?

If you have a lathe sat in the garage not being used and you don't "need" the money you might look for somewhere else to advertise it if, when you go to list it on ebay, you find out you have to give them your bank details now and you won't get any paypal funds from it?
they realised that Amazon was so successful, that they wanted to copy it instead.Same here!
That is how I always used to do it.
Luckily I have a spare bank account with no easy access so the money goes into that but Ebay are killing themselves. Going away from the original business model that worked so well.
Cus it’s free to use rather than ownership.
Wonder if it’s the same one I saw in 1995? Somewhere in Cardiganshire,a shed in a garden, bit overgrown garden and house, neglect and muddle everywhere.Hmm, I know where there is one nice one, stuck in a dark corner......
You got room to build a nice workshop up in the wilds there @fizzy ? Would be the best place for this, in the warm and dry, short walk down the garden path?
Back to the plot.
I have been having a good look around some of the importers websites: Chester, Warco and Axminster.
Between them I don't think they have ten lathes in stock and fewer Mills. I could buy the poverty level bandsaw off one vendor and a selection of Drills from another. Plenty of hand tools about but machinery is in very short supply. I also think people are going to get a bit of a shock with the prices when it comes back in stock.
I've started to noticed there's a bike shortage on eBay since covid too.
