Shocking tool quality

I know I shouldn’t expect much off of eBay but I bought a engine stand off there and the weld on the main upright part is shocking!!!
Talk about pidgeon poop and Aero bar

£42 like I said I really wasn’t expecting much

But that said ide expect it to still be able to do what it says on the tin
I wouldn’t trust it with 100kg let alone the stated 450kg

sometimes its worth buying something that is cheap rubbish as its ready made and just needs beefing up a bit . if u have the gear and can go get the materials at the rite price make your own its like people buying cheap blasting pots and improving them or totally making your own to a far better standard

My very much former boss ordered a gate that was made to spec, galvanised and powder coated cheaper than we could have ordered the steel paid one of the lads to make it

he ordered one once and it was massively wrong so I cut it and it was made of cheese no strength in it at all

it ended up going to a metro bank drive through with a series of other gates

Its a bit like the bench press I bought last year, got a refund which was some consolation. The standard of both the welding and the jig work were atrocious.

£42.. come on matey an engine stand up to the job is worth double that and then its still cheap. I keep harping on but as long as we keep buying complete muck off them they will keep sending it over by the ship full.

Tell the seller and you might even get a refund. Still got a wheel truing stand I need to re-work here, seller sounded like he didn’t even know what it was for, it’s terrible. Ended up using a couple of blocks of wood.

Whats more frustrating and very annoying is the idiot who made that on a bench while smoking a hand rolled cigarette did not give a complete toss to the poor lad with an engine on his foot...They don't care,they never will as its all about numbers

I have said many times it’s one thing to make something that looks the same as another, but to make something functions the same is a different ball game.

What’s worse is it’s claimed to be CE marked which I highly doubt is legit given the circumstances surely?

Yeah lesson learnt I think
I only wanted a cheap jobby to use whilst on lockdown to hold an engine I’m gonna be rebuilding
After I was planning to sell on as I won’t need it.
Flimsy I can handle but very VERY badly welded to the point of dangerous to sell is what I have a problem with.
Surely If something is rated it must conform even if it’s cheap?
