sheet cutting with mig?

I can't see how you would get the current from the welder to the tungsten if you leave mig wire in and disconnect the pinch roller I bet the the wire will just burn up in the liner.

The current is carried by an insulated wire to the (contact) tip so the welding wire is only "energized" as it leaves the torch.

the hole needed for a jigsaw blade will be to big, the cut to neat and i will not get the ragged style or size of slot i am looking for.

i need a plasma cutter but i don't have one.

you know what its like when you get a vision of how you want something to look and it is "art"

its ok i will use the mig and grind off anything it tries to weld.

Just a daft thought, would the mig cut any better if you used compressed air through the mig gun?

I would have thought it would just fire bits of molten metal at you and you would surely need quite a bit of pressure to get it to work?
