Shed heater

The late great bob9fingers had some kind of electrickery contraption he created that heated his lathe in his workshop so he never got condensation on it.

When I was a kid an old boy up the road used to have a light inside a biscuit tin, on a long lead, reckoned it was enough to heat his car up, preventing frost and help it start.

my old place was a restored water mill...u couldn't get damper than that....plus the shed was no better than a lean too with walls....
no insulation and talk about drafty.....
in there I had two big mills, two lathes, Wadkin spindle moulder, 20" planer thick, and sliding saw table.....
every one got a hidden where poss wall light fitting and a 11 watt curly whirley bulb running 24 x 7 under an old Douvet and blankets....from Oct until late March...
never any condensation...yes it was a pain to uncover the machines I wanted to use but not as bad as cleaning rust damage.....
even my mig got a bulb wired in perm so no rusty welding wire....
gotta say didn't really notice any big raise in the electric bill....

Isn’t everything you touch still freezing cold though, and do they only work on line of sight- so it might need to be a fairly small shed to be really useful?
