I always wonder if there any out takes from these type of programs where the presenter is too cheeky and gets told to "go away" as you put it.

wouldnt be suprised if the finds are planted there all part of the act , how many old geezers would part with vintage motorbikes that just needs new grips and a spark plug for a cheeky offer- they know just what theyre worth

I had a Maico 480 when I was 15. The lad before me sold it after breaking his ankle trying to start it. It kicked back, got his knee stuck under the bars and snap went his ankle

mine was a bitsa, it was a WR model, think it had a 430 bottom end and a 250 barrel.. but that could be the memory playing tricks. Was definitely 250 though..
aye one of those huge grin factor bikes, once I got the hang of keeping my weight more over the front end to keep it down.. it went end over end a few times until I got the hang of it.

My husaberg 500 was a left kick too, took a bit of getting used to, and by god would it let you know if it didn't want to go, or you'd kicked it a bit limp.
Only had a go at kicking a 490 maico once, and it was full on cold sweat time. The technique I was taught was not to sit on the bike and kick as that generally results in younover the bars or something broke, it's to lean it against something , stand next to it and kick backwards. It'll still bite you but that way you tend to just bounce off.
I'd kill for a maico now !

Surely not as bad as scrapheap challenge. No matter what they needed it was just around the corner! Complete chassis from a Bugatti Royale? No problem there's one conveniently lodged in the back of a bus. Let's pull it out with the quad bike! Left hand rocket from the space shuttle? Afraid not but a right hand one is conveniently lodged in the back of a bus over there! Lets pull it out with the quad bike! Etc. etc.

I think YouTube is the way it's going. Proper channels filmed by the people and edited by them same people.

I like shed and buried. Cole can be a bit soft, but its nothing to get upset about really, i tend to cut him a break as he allegidly spent the early part of his life out of his mind on drugs, so maybe its ok he has a different outlook on things. Sam Lovegrove is someone i could watch a lot of, seriously good on anything to do with old motorcycles, especially stuff made in the early part of the last century. Some of the sheds are amazing, the shed of George Cohen or Norton George as he was known (now sadly deceased) was truly wonderous.

It makes you wonder when you see the rubbish turned out by the big media companies with huge budgets, crews, assistants, directors, set designers, researchers and so on. Then look at some of the high quality output on YouTube by people working on there own and almost self funding. If i was in the TV industry i would be getting worried.

But there is a difference between people like us here who have a genuine interest in engineering and automotive projects and the like, and people who don't have a breeze about the subject, and watch rubbish like American Chopper and that sort of dreck.
