I made an alarm 30 years ago from a locomotive horn, simple 12 volt feed to a spring loaded contact switch on the door made from a clothes peg and a hidden master switch on the outside for when going in. Horn was just above and behind the door and the sound of it would damage eardrums if you walked in not knowing it was there. Wish i had the horn now.

Don't those type although very loud need time to spool up, lessening the shock factor by which time they could grab and go.

A touch, but not enough to worry about, especially if its protected.

Ive got a Master blaster siren as a back up to the main alarm, its loud enough to hurt your ears an garanteed to make you popular with anyone living within about 3 miles , ok maybe not 3 miles but you get the idea

I’ve had one of their wireless driveway alarms for many years and it’s worked faultlessly. It’s given me the upper hand when we’ve had uninvited guests in the early hours.

They do transmit to a good range and the receiver just plugs into a socket.

car battery, trickle charger, 12v air horn

get a remote fob from ebay to turn it on/off
simple door switch to trigger it

wire in a little outside light too, next to the door, so you know if it's on/off


one of those things where simple really is best

Mine all take compressed air.
A good bit of air.

I should of been more specific ...12V to the air pump, and not as big as yours
