Shed Alarm

I need to install a alarm system in my welding shed .
It only has one door and no windows .
Concrete sectional garage .
It has a constant and reliable 240 volt supply .
It is as secure as I can make it .
With a decent security light .
I want something that will make lots of noise if the door is opened.
I don't mind spending a few quid .
Any recommendations appreciated .

You need a sensor by the door / window that sends a signal near the house that fires off those 22 blanks for the hillti guns the perp will probably be easy to catch as his mates won’t let him in the car with full pants.

You could probably adapt a smoke alarm to operate as soon as the battery is connected, a switch to battery terminal/alarm terminal on the shed door?

The old style sound bombs in an enclosed area are painfully loud. I’ve used these on a car alarm setup I fitted to a shed.

The secret is to make it so loud they dont want to be in there, long enough to rip out the siren!

Keep seeing good things about "AJAX" alarm systems.
Is wireless setup but seem to be up there with good systems at the moment.

Is additional ports on the boxes for sounders and smoke screens.

Maybe worth a deeper look.

And or a cctv system maybe worth it also for the price they are now.

I use an IR sensor in the garage and a receiver plugged into a wall socket in the house. Any movement in the garage triggers a door bell sound in the house.

The garage bit is powered by regular batteries which seem to last forever....below is the one I use but needs to be close-ish to work I guess.

Under £40 and it does what I expect. The supplied batteries for the sensors don’t last long but a few Duracells sorted that out.

I have a Yale system in my 'shed'. It incorporates two door sensors and two motion sensors connected wirelessly. 115db siren mounted inside, and believe me, it bl00dy hurts when you set it off! It also has a key fob for n/off functions as well as the obligatory keypad on the wall.

I never fitted it because as sure as a cat's a hairy beast I'd forget to 'unset' it one day and scare myself sh*tless......

Flashbang and ematch would do the job - would alert everyone in about half a mile lol. Security has been on my mind here after neighbours got broken into few weeks back, were right out in the sticks and easy targets unfortunately.

What is the roof made of ? I had a sheet of wriggly asbestos roof removed and all my gardening tools including the electric hover mower 35 years or so back , they'd unscrewed the roofing sheet . Some one must have known that being an alarm installer I'd alarmed my shed & garage. The key switch for them were a dead giveaway .

It was a simple locking relay on a very loud varying tone klaxon triggered by a micro switch at the door top set with a key switch . I ended up putting in a Pulnix bubble / curtain sensor & small cheap alarm panel in a small box screwed to the floor hidden out of sight . The over head bubble sensor was screwed on the central roof beam so any one trying that trick again would break the curtain beams /

These days I'd go for a wifi set up inside my house with just the sensor & power set up with battery back up for it out in the mancupboard and a loud wifi solar powered battery klaxon on the gable end of my house .

I am sure if it was fitted in a steel container with a protected power supply. And an extra layer of protection added so even if they ripped of the first box they would find another.....just like Russian dolls. They would get rid of them quick enough.
