Can the outflow from these just drain to ground? Theres some talk above about draining them into the waterways etc. We have three tanks for the house and cottages (one double chamber breeze block one and two buried mushrooms). Its not clear how the mushroom tanks drain and i suspect the breeze block tank soaks away and has a simple outlet at the top if it is ever full. We are not near a river or waterway. It would make most sense to have one proper treatment tank further out in the field but I am not sure how to drain it? If its just water, can it just run off onto the pasture land? Its the same situation Frank had above really.

As far as I am aware, you can run it almost anywhere as it is relatively clean. A soakaway would seem perfectly logical to me, if you have no watercourse.

I fitted our WPL Diamond my self for our house and holiday cottages. Had a guy come with big digger. Big enough hole. Dry mix in the bottom. Lowered in the tank, ran water into it, back filled around it with dry mix up to the lid. After inlet and out let connected up. At the out let it goes into another "man hole ( sample chamber), then to the stream. I did have it commissioned by our local man for paperwork for the building inspector. Bobs description is spot in. Its a much bigger hole than youd expect too big for my 1.5 ton digger. You also need a power supply for the air pump. I just laid the SWA in with the soil pipe as its all new saved digging another trench.
Air pump or fan is about as noisey as a fridge in the kitchen.
Old septic tank, is still in the ground, just filled it with rubble and let it disapear in the grass. Quote we had from our local firm who do these nation wide (Hutchinson) was just under 6 k for the 15 person tank, including 3 guys, outlet pipework, digger, and concrete.

Were fortunate as the firm are close to us, that price was to do the job a year past April. Any half decent ground works guy should be able to do it for you. You could ask who ever empties your current tank they will know someone, if they dint do it themselves.
