seting up for milling machine

its time i set up the milling machine

but im not sure where to place it or wheres best to place it

my table is this

17" x 6" (432 mm x 153 mm) table with a single T-slot and all-screw feed movements.
Cross feed was 3.25" (83 mm), vertically 7" (178 mm)

now i understand its table size + handles

its the over hang on either side im not sure of can someone advise please

im looking at corner placement but i presime if its tsraight it would be the same reference

It's unlikely you will be milling anything bigger than the actual table size so anywhere you like as long as you can get full travel on the table in all directions without hitting your knuckles.

Or do as I did and fit wheels.

back it into the corner at 45deg.......making sure the table can extend to the max plus a foot or so......
do u need to get around the back for anything....?
similar probs with my Bridgeport....
for the larger jobs I pull it out of it's hole on a pallet truck.....it sits on a frame/chassis about 4" above the floor...

ive got to get to back of it and also down the side of it

to tighten the mt3 drawbar and also the top nuts to lock the top bar

this is how it was when i bought it, but ive also got some clean up to do on it



im also fitting a milling head to this as well so top bar needs to move right to the back of this setup
