Hey guys painting my engine bay this weekend.
Can I rub down the panels with 320 grit or do I need to get it right down to clean metal and removed all the existing paint?
id go a little rougher if keeping the paint ...for a flawless job and to get all the benefits then i would bare metal it , or at least any problem areas
Right used a strip disk and brought it all back to metal.
will 180 grit with orbital sander work or will it rotate too fast and somewhat polish the metal?
Side question for anyone who knows this sort of thing.
What order should I start spraying the engine bay? Should I the underside of panels like the bar over the radiator and the underside of the chassis rails first? and then start from the top or vice versa or just start at the top and work my way down?
