Does anyone know of an equivalent, I need to buy a bit of "stainless spring steel?" to replace this bit that sheared off of this shaker aparatus.

Is there an equivalent in the UK?

use a stainless steel ruler, they are temper rolled so may be suitable

TIG weld the broken ends of the spring together? Is it really a spring, or is it more of a flexor strip?

Only have a mig to hand, it anchors the movable table to the base of the machine and flexes about an inch back and forth continuous under operation at ~100 rpm.

What's a flexor strip?

Most of the web seems to think of flexors as tendons and anatomical bits and pieces, so perhaps it's not the right term. Flexure is probably more appropriate. I'm guessing that there are two of those strips in there, whose purpose is to keep the movable table part more or less parallel with the fixed part as it moves. See:

Quick follow up on this, I finally got a quote for an entire new frame, £250, the end user is happy to go with that.

Saves me fixing just one part to then have a follow up failure of another part in the near future.
