well if u havent allready filled the hole in cut em at 50 meters pull in the rope or cables and put a coupling in

I've used nylon pneumatic tube as a pull through for about 150 feet without too much trouble, not sure how easy it would feed 100m,
It is available in 100mtr rolls so no joints needed,its not particularly cheap, just sell it on when the jobs done,

compressed air is the way to go with the thin blue rope, the telecoms people use their road compressors to blow the rope from one end to the other

Hi we have this problem a lot, and as said blow something or hoover through a thin line and draw bigger through on that, or we have had to put inspection pits in sometimes if it's too long to be possible! Ridgid conduit draw tapes are handy too but longest I've seen was 50m! Ps I would use external grade cat5 for that sort of distance with baluns and power all down that one cable, not telling you how to do it or anything just my 2cents worth.

well just my findings----If blowing it though how do you feed the string in ??
my brother in law had an outside tap on a stand pipe we had installed at the far end of the garden, it was there for ages but had got slower and slower till it stopped running it was just a trickle, i thought the tap washer was knackered so i stripped of off and it was full of bristles so I cleaned them out, not sure what it was, and reconnected it, it was a little quicker but not how it should be.
So I stripped it off again and thought I would blow out any other crap switched on the tap in the house nothing much then a big BOFF and water squirting everywhere I switched off the stop cock and walked to the standpipe and there lying by it was the rest of the 1/2 paintbrush !! I thought WTF then thought about when we fitted it we pushed the blue pipe in the house michael my little nephew was inside 'cleaning up' with a paint brush and must have thought OH that fits nicely in there.
So get a paint brush tie fish line to it drill alittle hole in the pipe for the fish line to enter connect up water hose and blow it through. feeding the fish line into the pipe, ok a little water would come out where the fish line would enter but no major problem when the brush comes out the far end then just blow out the water.
Paint brush is ideal shape handle first the bristles then form the seal as they bunch up.
I though if I ever had to do this this is what I would do coz it worked perfectly.

put your (piston for want of a better word) in then a tube blowing air down the pipe it works perfectly

When NYMEX / NTL / VIRGIN installed cable ducting around here they first put in all the pipes then used a road compressor to blow a crisp packet (really - a crisp packet !) tied to thin cord through the pipe then used that to pull though blue rope. So every house had the blue road in situ from top of their drive to main junction box ready for if they then wanted cable installed.

Not joking but find someone who keeps ferrets. Get someone at the far end to rattle a stick a bit in the end or jangle keys if they aint up for it straight off. Harnesses can be bought or a std collar to drag a pull though. Just remember pull cables one at a time and always leave a pull though remaining.

Never heard of Dwarf ferrets??, not only do they run up trouser legs easily , they don't stop at Japanese eyes either.

AH HA got it, if using that much air then the 'piston' doesnt need to be a good seal, better if it is not a good seal, in fact so that the air flow carries the 'piston' along and the blow pipe would then form a venturi effect pulling in more air at the feed end including the line.
I was thinking of a small compressor and forcing the plug through it would have to be a good seal because of limited air flow and most air would turn and come back out the open end.

We've built inspection equipment for pipe manufacturers that work on the blowpipe principle: the 'piston' is an acetal cylindrical block slighly smaller than the bore of the pipe and has a set of detection probes fitted into it. This 'probe head' has a multi-core umbilical cable. The techies slip the probe head into one end of the pipe, hit the compressed air 'launch' button and the head is fired the length of the pipe (usually no more than about 10M admittedly). Once the head reches the other end of the pipe the guy presses a 'retrieve' button; a set of rollers grips the cable and pulls the head back at a constant speed while the probes look for flaws in the pipe. As the control system knows the linear speed of the retrieve it can ping up a diagram showing the location of any defects.
We've also fired foam 'pigs' down mile-long oil and gas pipelines; in this instance the pigs are a tight fit in the pipe bore and there's a Hydrovane or similar punching air in - but the pigs aren't towing anything behind them, just sweeping out any water or cr*p in the line.
