Too much hassle for me now…only used classified adds, to sell a Landrover and a bike recently. A few years ago sold a bike the guy came and bought it, then sent a courier to collect it. Must admit I did photograph it going in his van, and condition once in to avoid any dispute. If i sell on Ebay these days its cash on collection only.
if its been loaded up onto a trailer take photos of the transporter
if they pull up in a car also take photos of there vehicle though it does help with cctv
if they ask why your taking photos of there vehicle say its down to security since you are selling a vehicle and that photos are there to confirm collection of said vehicle and also there reg as proof they have removed said vehicle
dodgy ones soon scarper or they use dodgy number plates you cant be sure nowadays
And take a photo of the bloke collecting it.
You could also get his fingerprints if you are sneaky. A glass of water served on a plate would work.

as should be doneDVLA Online ransfer actually works.
Bank transfer - 'can' work but last time I bought a car was in Covid times - so £4k transferred sight unseen, with a courier company lined up to collect the following day. It all got very intreting when Barclas stopped the transfer as potentially fraudulent - and it took me several hours to get them to release it.... (Car was/is great BTW)
Time before that (Maybe 10 years ago now?!) - drove up, saw the car, liked it, bought it with bank transfer, DVLA transferred immediately, online insurance arranged immediately, and car tax... yes immediately.
