Self levelling screed

I've seen guys wearing the spiked shoes on site but thought that was just for getting around an enclosed area without splashing the goop everywhere. Didn't pay enough attention to ask.

Aye. That's all the shoes are really for. Saves having to work as the exit dictates

Why do you feel the need to put ply over it?
Also you would need to wait about 3 months for the water to come out of the screed

My friends garage floor was the same as yours. 20x30 ft. he used paving stones starting at the highest point laying them with a sand and a cement mix. I think he said 6 or 8 to one sand cement. He said it was the cheapest way he could find. It was so good I did my parking space in front of my workshop the same way.

It's water resistant unlike PVC glue. @brightspark recommends it for everything, I think he has shares in the company that makes it....

id better ring my broker up and and buy more shares there will be an increase in sales after the plug on here its misleading when firms are selling waterproof pva when in fact it re emulsifies when it gets wet

I've successfully used the washout from a lorry based mixer to do stuff like this before. It helps that I know the driver of the lorry. Cheap too.

A mate did the same but with end of line ceramic tiles from B&Q, squished them down on a bed of strong sand/cement. No voids underneath and they will take a hammering without cracking.

The main reason is because my woodworking machines are on castors , ie 12 inch table saw , planer , thicknesser etc are all cast iron and v heavy , the have to be stowed away to put land rover in garage, it seems the leveling compound is sold as a preparation for a finish flooring , currently it's a pain moving them over the lumps and dips , plywood is cheap and easily replaced , I can't raise the floor level much due to a fire door opening into garage , and also main electric garage door ,

it will work well levelling the floor then plywood over it after a couple of weeks to let it dry out just treat the boards before you fit them

polyurethane or epoxy floor paint is sufficient if you feel the need, my metal workshop floor is just self leveller, untreated

Why not just use a fine concrete and finish to a smooth surface
