spotted this mig "inverter" on ebay seems a steel anyone have one, but postage is really pricey. do ye think its a good machine, or even a good brand?

If it has "steps" for the amp settings would it more likely be a transformer type ? And it weighs 30Kg.

im completely new to migs never even picked up a gun once. was thinking about getting one, thought this looked better than a clarke, cause anything thicker that 3-4mm and id have the arc out anyway, much better weld. i just thought it would be handy for exhausts or tat annoying paper thin galvanise tube which takes awful fanny tittling with an arc to doctor, but can be done ! suppose theres a wicked duty cycle up on high amp?

Probably you would be better with a clarke at that sort of money

2m torch and earth cable as well Not even a euro torch so you will not find it easy to get a longer torch on it either.

As your user name suggests you use an oilcooled arc welder and I would imagine that mig will fall far shy of the type of duty cycles you are used to

It must be good it's "German". Why is a 145 amp machine called a Mig 160 ? I've a sneaking suspicion it may not be what it says and at £273 including courier it isn't that cheap.

would that be the duty cylces up when the oils boiling clem dog??? then again im pretty good at exhausts on the high ocv with a 2.5 or 1.6 on the oil cooled

I was kidding, a lot of "German" stuff like the Rehmann inverters are made in China. Look on Alibaba.com and you'll probably see the same welder in different guises being sold from Australia and New Zealand.
