Hi folks,
I'm about to embark on some welding on my aged Land Rover. The MOT test on Friday will dictate just how urgently I need to do it!
I had someone lined up to replace the rear cross member but they've been too busy for the past 11 months and now I have a hole in the bulkhead that needs repairing. I decided, for better or worse, that rather than pay someone else (and potentially wait an age), I'd be better off investing in a Mig and learning to do it, myself. I've done a little arc welding with a cheapy chinese job in the dim-and-distant past and conceptually, I'm reasonably happy. And I've watched hour-upon-hour of YouTube videos.
But I'd really like to get some hands-on guidance and feedback from someone who's a dab hand. I've looked at doing a one-day course at Telford Group (in Telford), but haven't found much in the way of positive review and I don't have much confidence that they'll have the real-world experience that I'm sure I could benefit from.
My R-Tech Mig180 has literally just this minute arrived (I was just in the process of writing "is due to arrive this afternoon" when the bell rang!).
Is there anyone in or around Shropshire with some time to spare and could help me out?
This forum has already provided a wealth of learning, so I'm optimistic that I've hit a rich seam!
Thanks,
Steve
