We had fireworks non stop for 30 minutes at midnight, then again at 1o'clock for 15 minutes, every year the home displays seem to get bigger by me.
ive lost 2 homes in my career![]()
Got to agree. First divorce cost me big time (the house is at the other end of the village, which I pass regularly and couldn't care less) , the second one cost less at 30 grand. Got back on my feet and now happily married for 20 years, owe nothing and enjoy life.Let it go man...your lucky ive lost 2 homes in my career

A bit harsh? I like fireworks & see no problem if used responsibly, I have set enough off in my time, but 2:30 am then non stop for 15 minutes???

Wasn't too bad here, big display at midnight which I assume was an official one at the local town, and a few odd bangs for an hour and then silence.
Think everybody round here is too broke.
Thats what happens when you buy a bungalow on an estate. Its really just one step before the box.I could vaguely hear some in the distance, until silly o'clock, but none in my part of the village.
Think everybody around here is too old. I'm the youngest person in my street, at 62.
This is where old people come to die.Thats what happens when you buy a bungalow on an estate. Its really just one step before the box.
would rather have the moneyBut think of the life experience you learnt along the way!
Nice one. Had a quietish one here, idiots with fireworks had shot their loads before midnight. And it's playing. Wife's amused
Oh mate,so sorry for what would of been a terrible new years for you without the wife after almost 50 yearsMy first New Year's Eve spent alone, my wife of nearly fifty years died in April.
Watched something on TV that made so much impact, 24 hours later I can't recall what it was.
Went to bed at 10pm, read for an hour, put the light out.
Best wishes for 2023 to all, although economists predict that it could be tougher than the last.
For me; emotionally, it couldn't possibly be any worse.
Drying them out or cooking them , sorry my humour is as bad , as this evil flu I've been carrying inside me for three weeks.. Will be AFKB for a few week whilst I hibernate a recovery and stop making 43 typo's etc. in such a short post .No merry making here at roofman manor...just a nice chill with the wife and plenty of logs on the stove![]()
Here hereAi, life has a tendency to be sh** enough at times without listening to the beeb, or any other apocalyptical news channel. Best thing is to do your best and get on with it, hope for the best.
So happy 2023 everyone, the doom mongers told us we’d be starving two years ago, then we’d all be dead from covid, now we’re all going to be skint and freeze... F***k all of them I say.
