Securing sharpener, Vice etc on wooden bench

I was wondering if anyone had a good idea on how to secure various items onto a wooden bench but do it in such a way that they can be easily removed so that I can work on something large and then easily put back again. (like whetstone sharpener or a vice or whatever else). At the moment I have the sharpener bolted to a block of wood and then I clamp the whole thing onto the bench but it's a faff and isn't too secure.

my bender has a piece of box section under it

its so handy to drop into a square on the bench or even to stick into a vice and use it

that means i can use the vice when needed the grinder when needed and the bender when needed a

when not in use ive got the whole top as flat as when needing to weld upon it and that comes in so handy when things dont get in the way

Sharpener is this kind of thing. A bit big for the vice although maybe I could try the box section idea

F clamps are handy for this. Or I have two bench grinders bolted to a single piece of 12mm plate facing back to back that used to sit on my bench on an old folded-up towel to stop the plate rattling on the metal bench. I used to just spin the plate around according to which grinder i wanted to use.

I'm about to set this all up again but I have four grinders so I may well fix them to a square of timber which can spin round to any of four points.

both of these have a piece of box section underneath so i can either slot them into a vice and tighten it up or i can slot it in a square hole on the table and then tighten a bolt up underneath and it holds it solid

ive also done the same with the vice fitted it onto a plate and a box section underneath its really handy and keeps the table clear and free the issue can be when putting the stuff away as the plate and the box section underneath makes storage ackward

near enough fit a decent wood vice to the bench as its top is flush with the work surface so clamp your ply in that with a piece of 3x2 screwed to it underneath

I have a few small pieces of butcher block type worktop for that purpose. Bolt an item to that, then clamp that to the bench.

How about a grinder stand? Or even a wall mounted stand which could be multipurpose?

At my last plce I had some 50mm box section welded under the bench top with thwbendnshowing flush to the frontbof the bench. I would plug 40mm box section into that. I rebuilt a Bridgeport head which was fixed to a plate on the emd of some 40mm box and it was handy because I could turn it through 90/180 degrees either way loke and engine stand.
