Secondary coil burn on some generic MIG-130 Flux Core welder

Thank you, and thanks all for the input. Without the collective help on this forum I wouldn't have come this far in the process. I hope that all the back-and-forth communication might help someone else in the future as well. Would've been a shame to throw out the welder "just" because of a bad transformer, when there's still work to be done with it. :-)

And thank you for the explanation on wire feeds - it's always fun to gather new knowledge - I'm a bit of a geek at heart, so most knowledge is good knowledge to me. :-)

I'll make sure to post an update when the "new" transformer arrives!

Just wanted to post an update.

I fitted the new transformer, and the welder is now welding as good as is to be expected from a welder of this class. :-)

Thank you for the update, and good to hear that it works!
It was interesting to learn of a welder of this class containing three mains transformers.
If you consider an upgrade in the future, I would recommend checking out the Stahlwerk range of inverter welders - due to their 7-year warranty.
