I made myself some sheet metal splashbacks a few years ago.
They look fabulous. at least in my book. I had a sheet of 3mm plate going rusty at work. I dont like cutting straight lines so nice wavy edges; and I hate straight lines.
yes the knobs are made of old valves. Absolutely perfect. My mechanic neighbours thought I was mad but gave me a pile of them. Then were stunned by how they do the job
The ex grouted round them, that fell to bits after a few months (see photo, 'Yes dear' was easier than arguing'. Then I fitted them with wooden quadrant beading. Did the job but looked a bit manky after a couple of years.
They all have to come off for a refurb and I want new sockets.
So off they come.
I have seen this stuff which looks just the ticket, any thoughts anyone?
I could use silicone but thats a faff on such long joins
