Sealey mightmig 150 setting up advice

Hi,

Have a sealey mightmig 150 set up in gas mode with 0.6mm wire. I am using hobby weld 5. It will be for welding car panels. Can anyone help with the below: -

1. What should I have the gas on?
2. What wire speed should i use?
3. What power setting?

I am new to welding....was getting on ok in gasless mode but having no luck with gas.

For car panels you want everything slowed right down. Lowest power setting, lowest wire speed.
Gas should be 10-12LPM.

Do you have a spare panel that you can practise on? That's the best way to get it tuned in.

Yes I can find a spare panel. I will try as you suggest but when I tried o n lowest setting before and similar on 10-12 I was getting no penetration and all the weld was forming on top of the metal. It also seemed like the there was not enough gas coverage as it was intermittent.

Just increase wire speed until it penetrates properly, maybe up power a little if needed.
