Sealant for cracked rubber intake boot?

I used some aerospace fuel tank sealant to repair a cracked carb diaphragm ages ago and it worked great.

Im actually really impressed with the Sika and how well it's worked. In the interest of science I completed the repair of the original air duct. I will not be using it if the 300E one fits. But I will post a video of the repaired one to show how well that stuff worked! Nice sealed, flexible repair.

Personally in the interest of science I would use the repaired one to see how long it lasts but keep the spare in the boot with tools to change it if needed while out and about

Its about 1 hour to change the part so no I won't be taking a chance with it unless the other new one will not fit. The new one should be here today going by RM tracking

Update - the new m103 boot arrived today. Aftermarket cheapie from ebay for now to test the theory but surprisingly it didn't stink and feels decent quality material.

It fitted but did require the side hole enlarged slightly with a die grinder so the original 190E tube fitted without stretching the rubber boot. The intake part was also quite tight but I got it on there in the end and thats alot better now.






Dark now but back together less the metering head which I will rebuild.



(This is just about getting the car running for now. It will get a full restoration later including full re-plating of all hardware etc)
