hot cut? quicker than cooling it and putting the bar in a vice or in a the saw and chopping it that is for sure, takes just a few hammer blows to cut a piece of 6mm, plus it gives it a nice chamfered edge. Just depends on how you're used to working I guess.
Will have to have a look at that book later, no time now, gotta get the rugrats to school!
