I bought a cheap SD card reader from Currys that fits.onto an android phone.
That might do the job

Yep.

I have a compact flash version that works direct from an old camera. It worked great.

I loved the idea you could get it in SD version but with the cost of living crisis biting now, I am having to be frugal.

My laptop is all buttoned up for security too. Civil service too, I can still read SD cards and plug cameras in and retrieve the pictures. I hate saying this, as I know it’s worse than terrible, speak to the IT department.
