Yes, oxy/propane will melt/cut steel, so should do the same to al if you are happy with a messy cut (as you already said you are), and it will save you money on bottle rental

I dont think it will cut ally, just make a hell of a mess, blowing molten metal everywhere.... the oxygen stream reacts with the steel to turn into a slag the remaining pressure blows it away. Not as simple as just blowing hot metal away.

I did'nt think of that Hitch, the heat and oxygen rapidly oxidise the steel don't they , ive never of Ally being cut with O/A or O/P
