I ordered and paid for a water heater to be delivered anytime today from Screwfix, at 3PM I notice an email from them saying I had been refunded? I called them and they said I had been sent a text explaining that it was out of stock (which I hadn't).
They said they expected them back in around the 18th Dec but no guarantee.
Just looked online and they have them to collect locally but not for delivery. I ordered one to collect tomorrow.
Makes you wonder about their customer service.

see if you can ring local shop to make sure it's in stock
normally you get a text when the delivery is available also check to see if your mobile no is correct on there site

I've used Screwfix for donkeys years and their stock and customer service was always excellent - until my last order to be delivered. After the third balls up I gave in.

went in today no dry lining screws so asked for 4 different sizes and no they don't even know when they will come in. undoubtedly covid to blame went to toolstation and they have them all

yep COVID seems to have dried up the worlds supply of SF stainless screws as well...I tried the toolstation ones and seemed to keep losing the heads off them.

I've found all of the cheaper stainless screws are prone to shearing when the going gets tough. I only use Reisser Retinox now but sadly it's only independents who seem to stock them.

Screwfix had some great deals on the Black Friday Sale, see how many of them were actually available, quite a few weren't. They had Dewalt T-stack boxes reduced from £39.99 to £19.99, not availble for delivery and none available to collect in the 10 nearest locations

I needed some lecky bits for me old fellas this weekend. Went on Screwfix, shown as in stock, but were click and collect only, no delivery, and some other equally small items, no delivery, collect only. Rang up the main order number, just on hold forever so gave that up so got a bank loan and ordered from CEF instead.

BOC seem unable to answer the phone lately too.

But of course there's a global pandemic dontchaknow so you can't challenge our rubbish service..

We have a Toolstation next door to Screwfix in Alfreton. Very handy

Same setup at the industrial estate round us very handy , May aswell knock the wall down between them and share the stock all much the same

Just generally better prices from TS in my experience & my local are all over it when it comes to Click & Collect

Next door policy is useful. If SF is out of stock an usually get it in TS

I've never had any problems with either toolstation or screwfix.The prices at toolstation seem cheaper but some of the products are poorer quality.

They do have my correct number as I have since received a text saying my re-ordered one is ready for collection.
The guy who I spoke to at Screwfix HQ never suggested checking stock locally (12 miles away) and was prepared to lose the sale when I told him I couldn't wait until the 18 Dec and would have to look elsewhere.
