are the scratches under the paint, what did you flat with before you applied the top coat
are they deep scratches or are they just marks from paint clogging the paperYer they appear to be on the surface, I flatted with 600 before the top coat, I'm just wondering if the quality of the paper is poor.
600 is fine if 2k and a solid colour 800 minimum for base and clear600 is very coarse in my opinion, this could be the problem.
Using the finer paper to now go over the coarse will take some rubbing to remove
How many coats have you put on
What paint have you used celly or 2k
3m is a good make as are plenty of others I don't see how you are getting scratches even with poor paperI used 600 on the hi build 1500 on the colour (2K, 2 coats ). Scratches seem quite deep. Got a feeling it might be contamination or poor quality paper. What make of paper would you guys recommend ?
I always soak & clean the polishing head prior to using it, its gets rid of the dried hard compoundas the snooper said I would check your buffing head it's helps to be damp to stop burning and this has to be spotless
I would use farecla g3 for buffing then finish with 3m hand glaze to eliminate the swirls
check the block is perfectly flat, the smallest of high spots will cause problemslooks like the scratches follow the path of the block I was hand sanding with, might try again BUT I probably need to give it another coat of colour as i feel it might be getting a bit thin !
