scrapping old Pickhill oil filled

Ive 3 old Pickhilll 410 volt oil filled stick welders to scrap and each of them has about
100 litres of oil. I never knew what kind of oil it was exactly but its still fairly clean and I was wondering
if the diesel fork lift would run on it, mixed 50:50 with diesel, or could I burn it in the space heater.
Anyone got any experience of it?

Isn't it transformer oil? Older stuff was quite nasty I believe so not sure I'd want to be burning it, I'd suggest some form of safe disposal.

May contain PCB's which easily pass into the skin

I also believe its not nice stuff.
Problem would be proving what it is?
Our local tips take any oil just pour it in a big tank.

weve been burning it in the heater for years ,,, dont breathe the fumes , burns clean , lights well , all in all its perfect heating for the price .... its free.

the real old ones contain pcb. not ideal getting it on your skin but you would have to be handling it regular to be detrimental . not a good idea to burn it neither .just dispose of it at the local tip

At the foundry in the 70's we would change the transformer and switchgear oil during the summer shutdown, the oil would be filtered and put into milk bottles, the Indian trackworkers would be lining up on the first Monday back to buy it as they used to rub it into their skin
