I should do. Will see what funds we have. But lets most of the knowledge here, get on the course!
^^^^^^^^ Got rid of them years ago.typists.
We build high speed production machines - not machine tools, but a lot of things are similar, including in places, the level of precision. We have many, many sub-contractors up and down the country - Scotland to the south coast - making our components that we don't have the capacity, the abililty, or wish, to make ourselves once a machine goes into full production. As well as a fair few abroad of course. There are a lot of good, smaller to medium sized engineering companies all over the place. We've probably got a fair few tens of millions of quid of work out there at the moment.Tell us more,
Sounds interesting , I've seen a few major machine shops but all CNC and they even got rid of their small toolroom manual however they where mainly oil and gas.
The irony of moving production to meet carbon targets to countries un interested in emissions then transport junk thousands of milesBeaver ended up being sold off to Mikron I believe.
They made the mistake of investing in a new factory just as recession hit - Natwest got twitchy and pulled the plug on them, despite having some big orders on the books.
No interest from the government of course. Had it been the financial sector no doubt their would have been a bailout. Such a waste.
Not going to get any better either, the only realistic way we will meet our new carbon targets is to move abroad what little we do have left.

What did Coles in Dorking make?Kearney and treckers main business in the U.K. was production machinery and not small milling machines
With the U.K. automotive industry in freefall in the ‘80’s and 90’s their principal customers went.
K&t marwin s last major contract was a facility in Poland.
They won’t be making anything in India if covid continues over there as it is.Isn't it just? Because of course carbon emissions respect borders... It's not like we all live on the same rock and breath the same air...
I see China is now curtailing steel exports in a bid to prioritise their own manufacturing industry and reduce emissions.
Presumably that means more price hikes and just shifting all the pollution to India instead. It makes you want to weep.
Cranes? Not a clueWhat did Coles in Dorking make?
I worked opposite the lathe factory, that's what it was known as.Cranes? Not a clue
