After the disaster over there they have plenty of scraps metal at present so suspect the price will drop even lower !

I somehow doubt that. Someone's always making a buck

yes firms buy the steel when the price is low and hang on to it and say theres a shortage then the price increases and suddenly theres a glut of it .they do the same with copper cable big ££££ to be made by doing it

As in another thread, I weighed in my mum's car t'other day, a 106. After a few bits 'fell off' (including wheels/tyres) it went over the bridge at 720kg.

Got £21...

But it was still full of all the plastic and gubbins.

Haha,thats an oldie and the scrappies got wind of it quickly so they started weighing all legit weight models as that then gave them a weight to go by,I remember this jimmy bloke I knew who weighed in the odd car now and again and he scrapped an allegro,filled the tank with sand and filled the door wells with sand....the scrappie bloke told him to take the bodies out of the boot after the weighin.

I bought another landrover a couple of days ago. Ill break it to keep our existing one on the road, and then weigh in the rest.

Im wondering if ill be able to convince anyone to give me more for it, on account of most of the body being alloy.

you may be better off selling whats is left on gumtree/ebay body for a landrover??? should get more than scrap easily

I was thinking about weighing in my Chevy Blazer, but after reading some of the posts I don't think I'll bother. It'll have to go on the bay I reckon.

If someone near me wants some scrap they can have some for free. Still haven't invoiced the scrap yard for my last lot just wanted proof of weight incase I get the vat sniffing round.
It's more a hassle than a piggy bank presently
