His choice of lifestyle sadly typifies man's inhumanity to his fellow man; I found his story of having been 'kicked in at a young age quite moving and it set him upon his path of solitude and self-sufficiency.

Yep, that’s correct.

He’s not a proper hermit though. He still likes to meet people, be an interesting man to have a chat with. Some of his photos are stunning.
