I Guess your right. I think I will just have to swing at the freaking thing. Since I'm not spending 2.5k£+ I think I will give the scandtig a fair shot. Will research some more before I buy. Hopefully someone who has owned a machine for a while to see if it holds up. The safest choice is going 2.5k£ short in buying a well known good machine. But I just can't afford that at the moment. Let's just say the wife would kill me knowing I have spent close to 20k in my garage setup so far, and that's not including well over 60k£ in cars and 20k£ in building the garage alone. So quite a few £ on my hobby
. So why not go all in and spend 2.5k on a good Tig. Well... I still have to buy a mig machine and an air compressor. So things are adding up here and there. and the fact that I will be using the tig less than a few hours each month, I just can't defend the money of a decent brand TIG for the use I'm going for.

I intend to use mine as an expansion of my hobby and produce one off parts for other people, like yourself my Tig will not do a great deal of work over a month so the Chinese machine fits in well with my needs at the moment. Provided I achieve my goal the machine will pay for itself in time much the same as my Mig welder did 20 years ago, it was quarter payment for the first job I completed with it and although not a high end machine at the time, it has served me well and earnt a small amount most years to cover the bottle rental and consumables.
