SBR question - colour?

I want to seal my shed floor with SBR.

Since it's already half-full, I'll have to do one bit at a time.

Can I add a pigment (water-based paint?) so I can tell which bits have been done?

I want each coat a different colour

SBR is really effective if it’s flooded onto the surface and allowed to soak in, then sweep off the excess and allow it to dry.Far better than a coat or two.

I've just been using some SBR this morning on some brickwork so I've mixed in a bit of green food dye and painted a bit of the chipboard floor I'm putting down.
I'll let it dry then post a photo.

once its had one coat and soaked in it wont take kindly to being re coated and dry ive mixed coloured powder with block paving resin and its good

Here's the difference.

Plain on the left strip and green on the right, the board is already a slightly green colour so it should show up ok on normal wood.

Just do the floor with everything still in the shed. Tip a bucket in at the door and walk away. It'll act as an effective anti theft system to would be thieves

Interesting - ta for that.
Other stuff id read implied that a dilute coat, followed by full strength was better.

I'll just do a "flood coat".

yep it will soak in, if it stays wet on some parts just go over it with a sweeping brush and get the excess off

Hawthorn hedges with interwoven steel mesh on three sides.

Dog pen on 4th side.

Plus a couple of other... Erm... "Stuff'

I'm reasonably happy with my theft deterrents.

You don't need 2 colours. Put a tint in it to make it a different colour to the existing floor.
Paint 1 half of the floor and it will plainly show up and you'll know where to apply the 2nd coat.

So cement toner pigment then?

I was thinking it would be some sort of water based latex pigment.

A bit academic now I've decided to go for a single coat, but hey-ho, maybe someone else can use the info later.

Why not just draw a dividing line on the floor with a permanent marker / Sharpie?

Paint the SBR on up to the line. Let it dry and shift the stuff over.

Should still be visible the next time you want to do it.

Grind a dividing slot and paint up to it!
