so do acin that manual it says you can change the brushes on the motor .dc motors are the ones that use brushes
hardly a dc motor you would need to have a rectifier to run it. its acive read most speed control ac motors have brushes.
ive looked at the manual twice. doesnt it point to the draper having a dc motor as grim_d suggested.
if so i can use pwm controller on it.
the blade is a direct fit to the motor so impossibleI can see nothing on the data plate nor in the manual that would suggest this saw has a DC motor, and I have never seen a cheap domestic table saw of this type with a DC motor.
Even if it were true, a PWM speed control for an 1800 Watt 230 volt DC motor would be quite rare and expensive.
If the speed reduction is to use the saw to cut metal, that requires low speed and high torque, so what you need is a gearbox.
I don't think using a push through table saw to cut box section is a good idea even if you do get the speed down to 1400rpm. Are you planning on ripping it down it's length that you want to use this saw?i want to use this draper saw table to cut 3mm thick box section
Just rewinding a bit...but a mitre saw is around 4000rpm.i thought for metal cutting you need lower rpm.
do i just need a change of blade.
what blade would you suggest.
i want to use this draper saw table to cut 3mm thick box section
i tried to cut some metal with the blade supplied but it hardly cut into it lol
