i was thinking of making one of these, will any one help me put dimensions on this photo. i think 6 foot long 30 inch wide and a yard to the bottom of the v? or is that away off?

Sounds about right,

I'd want the bottom of the log to be the same height as my clenched fist when I'm stood next it (with my arm straight down). That way I'm not stooping down to finish a cut and I'm not lifting the saw up more than I have to each time.

Can I order mine with wheels on one end and a handle on the other so I can trundle it around

There's a folding one on ebay with a video on youtube. I like the look of it and it wouldn't take too much figuring out to make a tailored version.

I had not seen the Oregan one before now, and what sense it makes, pack it up tight and four cuts gives a pile of logs brilliant, that is the one I would aim for making, and maybe also the cantilever one for larger diameter logs.

It has spikes in the hinged piece which lock into the log and hold it in place with it's own weight which is why you have to follow the cutting order to keep it heavy at the right end.

Like bout the height of a bathroom sink. It is said that a sink must just be low enough that you can **** in it. That sounds too low, but is the right height.

if you leave enough of room between the single and double jaws you could use a grab or palette forks to load some of the heavier Lents

i hate them ones, there so tinnish looking, if you had that in an area where you where felling trees and a tree fell on it by accident, which could easy happen it would make shhhh11111111ttttteeee of it. im thinking if a tree fell on this it may fall over at worst, having said that the tree could make crap of it too i suppose
