I'm a bit surprised at the people who think we should just leave the stuff there or that we're being "mean". So why are we removing the sockets? - because we will need them at the new place.
The removal is costing nothing because an electrician who is a son of a member is disconnecting and making safe (last night) and then other members are pulling the sockets and trunking off the walls today (carefully - bear in mind that these are mainly retired trades people from the days when they had to have a modicum of common sense).
The building is likely to be demolished but even if it isn't it's not going to be used in it's current form so we're not inconveniencing any future owners or tennants as it would all be ripped out and scrapped or end up in the pile of rubble anyway.
Is it worth it? for zero outlay we have the stuff to be re-installed. Lets guess it's a hundred quids worth of stuff - that's a hundred quid that doesn't have to come out of the club account and can be spent on other things to benefit the members. Yep - strikes me as being worth it.

when i moved into the bookshop, it was a bare shell.
i bought all the light fittings and sockets from the previous tenant, and refitted them.
when i moved out, i had to remove them again, and the next tenant had to fit new ones (i took mine home for my shed).

Tbf it makes sense, the landlord has no idea how well the modifications have been done.
Who's responsible if they then rent it out to the next Tennant and something goes wrong
True but it's a bit bonkers sometimes..
Last place we moved out of had a new network and 100mb over gig internet installed by us using a combination of BT and contractors and we had all the certificates for the internal cabling. When we left we were happy to leave it (cheaper for us not to rip it out) and the leasing agent was very happy as he saw the extra value. Landlord insisted it be stripped out leaving no useable network and no phone lines. We even had to take out the decent carpets we'd fitted and replace them with a nasty colour the landlord wanted, it didn't match anything else and was of course the cheapest we could find.

years ago I used to do a lot of small extensions on houses and rewires for a local electrical firm .there main jobs were for uptons next mothercare and all big shop fits all over the country. every year the nic eic did random checks on there work every year . went in office and gaffer said to me we just had our yearly inspection done 
I said everything ok. did they pass without comment . yep they checked 4 of your jobs

the school I do loads of work for gets tested every year by a separate company ive changed nearly every db rewired classrooms and changed the majority of lights over 47 years .every job has passed no probs that's how it should be

the clip is NLS. guess how much the complete cable is?
its in the high hundreds!!!
Maybe they adjusted them before the silicone went off
at least they wouldn't move once set!
