Sanding/Abrasive belts.

I have a belt sander but the belt has gone missing (because I took it off to get a new one and the wife filed it under bin....AGAIN) Arrgg

I need to get one to test the size . I have tied some string and it seems to be 1500mm with a bit of tension BUT 1525mm might work. Sadly the only belts on ebay are in 10's at this size.

Where would I get a one off to try for size.. Its 50mm wide which makes it not very popular from what I can see.

OR how do i make up belts from a roll?? (Another option but still expensive to be honest)

I am revisiting this as I found my links here lurking at the back of the lathe but can't find belts for it.
Doing a bit of research as I know I purchased belts that fit it before and I initially decided it was 72inch as that seemed most popular but then stumbled across an old thread where it seems I measured it at around 1500mm and closest seemed to be 1525mm off the shelf.

Seems to be lots of types to choose from. Anyone know what the different types are for. I need metal removal and cleaning up and a bit of polishing from time to time.

good luck on the making your own belts to size of a roll been there done it and got the teeshirt. tried every glue going with no success
