Good morning all you lovely clever people

I'm the process of moving house and our new place has a decent although single garage.

Any way I have always wanted a little sand blast cabinet....(still doing the mini restoration) but I have just recently discovered vapour blasting... mind blown..

So is there a way of combining both systems into one cabinet...

Many thanks even if I'm being a bit to ambitious.

    Dom.

It would be easy enough to feed them both into one cabinet but the biggest problem I can see is how will you dry the cabinet back out after vapour blasting before switching back to sand?
The main issues with sandblasting are keeping the sand dry enough to stop it clogging.

It would not be a problem if you are discarding the media after use but would be an issue if you wanted to recycle it round.

Overall the cabinet/gloves/window/light are not the most expensive parts of the system so unless space is limited I would just have one for each.
Would pay off eventually by reusing the media.

I have recently been into this rabbit hole on Google........

There is lots of info out there on how to convert dry blast setups. Ive got a small bench top jobbie which nearly ended up under the knife (grinder), but my plans have now changed, after seeing this video on the tube :D........Ive priced up some bits and bobs from our friends overseas (dry blast gun for modifying, gloves, boron nozzle, foot switch, etc) and already sourced a suitable pump......bit of jiggery pokery I reckon I can get it done less than £100....... I think its worth a punt.

Single garage with a mini on a jig is pretty much all my room gone.. I can just get s bench on the end and a lawnmower down the side...but.... nothing's impossible..

just get yourself on the Bay or bypass the middle man and go straight to Kung-flu central Ali Express.
    So far:
Submersible pump Ive got off the bay.......Screwfix return - £15
Foot pedal pneumatic - approx £8
Dry blast gun approx £10 (needs to be modified) The guy in the video goes through lots of info on how to build your own gun from parts of plumbing.....?
Couple of different boron nozzles 6mm and 8mm - Approx £12 for pair
Gloves and rings - Approx £20
    Lighting---cheapo LED £10?
    Dishwasher..........Free. Everywhere.
Misc hose, Perspex, glass.............im tripping over it.
For everything else, I'll use MasterCard....
    Fun factor, swearing and frustration...............Priceless

That is a complete and utter filthy good idea... I think a build thread will be coming up... if and when I finally exchange contracts and bloody move in.

Okay so eBay had sorted me the big boy 750w titan pump CHEAP..
BUT watching his videos I see he uses a lathe to construct the air needle part of the gun...
Is that what your doing... also the nozzle ceramic part needed to be adjusted via a lathe...
    So just wondering... lol

Well, I was hoping to slightly chance my luck and offer some pictures of the queen if you happened to possibly make another vapour blast gun parts or a whole gun..
Or I will have to go looking for a lathe now aswell... haha.
