Yes this will come across as a Mr useless thread with the mind frame of just sort it and stop asking daft questions but I am beaten, or perhaps not beaten because there is nothing to be beaten by, which would surprise me...I will explain

Just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7" tablet, very pleased with it but I don't know if it has a removable film on the screen, at present fingerprints are much worse than my other touchscreens, making me suspect it may have.

Yes I know it should be easy to tell, there was one on the camera lens but try as I might I can't see one on the main screen, every phone or tablet I have bought has had them.

I have had a very gentle sort of poke at a corner (stanley blade point) without luck and I don't want to dig in with a pointy wotsit and risk damage.

I also don't want to leave what could be the best fitting plastic film in the world on the screen before fitting my soon to arrive glass protective screen.

Bit of a long shot but has anyone who bought one of the Samsung range of screened products remember theirs, did it have one and was it a sod to see and find an edge?

the one that came on my galaxy tab 7 from new had the branding logo across it, once removed i had to add my own screen protector, if its a used tab it may have a protector, try picking up a corner with finger nail or wooden tooth pic , wont damage the screen if there isnt one, i dont use one on the ipad and just wipe it now and again with computer screen wipes from pc world.

Its brand new and the box was security sealed, never seen a new one without a screen and as you say most of them have advertising bumpf on them, hence why I am a bit mystified

It was really hard to notice but I thought the screen was a bit unresponsive, I just put it down to being a bargain basement one. Removed it and it's much better now.

Exactly: it's so stupid it's unreal, I should be able to tell but can't, I also have never seen one sold without so suspect it's there, slowly getting annoyed with it and the trouble is there may be nothing there to get annoyed with

If there is one I can't believe how good the fit is.

get a good magnifying glass, if its there you'll see the edges

great minds etc etc : Just done exactly that and could see nothing.

Right..with clenched teeth I have tried to scratch it with the point of a Stanley blade tight in the bottom corner and nothing, guess that proves there is no plastic film, first display screen on any phone or tablet I have ever seen without one... 99% sure now, that 1% is still bothering me though

The film on my galaxy tab was quite soft, a fingernail would mark it easily, i used it for a few days like that till it got marked then bought an ebay case for it which came with a screen protector, but never bothered to fit it,

Cheers..More proof it has not got one, it did have a soft sort of paper ish fabric envelope wrapped around it, I suppose that may be the alternative to a plastic screen protector these days.

Yes it was the transit screen I was expecting, could not see and thought modern machinery had improved so much the fit was perfect and hard to see.

Just watched a review and unboxing on Youtube and the one they had didn't have any plastic screen protector.

erm yeah..I found that out an hour after paying for a protective screen, not to worry, my new £5 screen is so strong it will withstand a nuclear explosion apparently, always nice to know.

Just need the Royal Mail to get it here in one piece.

Aldi: 50 individually wrapped "eyewear" cleaning wipes for 99p. May be cheaper than PC World.

I left the protective film on my kitchen wall cabinets for over a year before I noticed it starting to peel off.

As above, get glasses wipes. They are two packs for a quid in Home Bargains if I recall correctly, but also available in Poundland etc.
