Hello to all
I have been given a SAFMIG 320 BL ( the old bulky workhorse) in a nearly scrap condition. Ater a visual inspection i found out that the rheotor that uses to change the voltage to the wire feeder was faulty. I bought from ebay a wire feeder, wire it up and seemed that it was working, lets say ok. I realized that the welds were not as smooth as the telwin my father got but i didnt pay to much attention.
I striped the whole machine down ( to a considerable level), clean it respray it , put new conectors etc and after a month was back to life ..... in a maner of speaking. ( i will post some pics later this afternoon )
The machine does a lot of spater and does not do very good welds ( always compared with telwin) from my point of view.
I friend of mine who is an electonic engineer told me that the thyristors may not be driven well ( no circuit board at all only relays and cables) and he asked me if i can find an electical digram for the machine to find out what may be faulty.
If someone has in mind something and may help me would be briliant as first at this time i do not have the money to invest to a new machine (4 months old baby princess rises expences to the upper limeits) and also the rebuilding work and effort payed to the machine was far much more than i thought in the begining.
Looking forward to your preceious help.
Best Regards
Dimitris
