I start with left lace over the right, left goes under and round the right lace, whatbis now the right lace I make a loop, I now pass the left lace over and round the loop and pull the left loop through the hole underneath. Do it the opposite way to do it backwards

Sod the laces, just buy slipon work boots. Cant think for the life of me what a laceup boot has over a slipon other than being a royal pain , especially if you need to take them off numerous times a day.

I'm unsure what people mean by "double bow" in this context. When I was a child, that meant to tie an overhand with the bow, which is can be hard to undo and a pain.

Instead, when looping around the first bight, do two or three wraps before pulling the second loop through. It will be a much more stable knot and come undone as normal by pulling the ends.




I agree with this though I have used 2 and 3mm climbing accessory cord which is near enough the same stuff, also used that as pull start cord when my 020T wore it out.

I found this is very cheap source of 3mm in 100m spools.

My and my sons lifetime supply of boot laces has just arrived....
