Mine snap from old age I think - can't recall replacing laces before the boots were worn through. Or indeed laces coming undone very often - my mum/dad must have taught me well - doing my own shoes up at primary school a long time ago. Just do them up tight. Although I'm usually on flat floors, or open mezzanine flooring stuff, so they aren't being flexed in all directions climbing over stuff, or getting soaking wet and dirt dirty - oils, inks, varnishes, metal swarft, scrap etc.
Although the last couple of pairs of boots have worn though the liner at the heel before anything else - starts wrecking socks then. Got and old school cobbler local, so had him add leather inside - use them at home now. Work boots usually just about last a year.
