I was well into making explosions when I was little[we won't mention all the minature bangers a friends son bought me back from France, last week]. I don't think I had heard of thermite[my bible was a victorian 3 vol science book]. First I remember hearing about it was the Baker street Lloyds bank robbery.

A firm near me bought a load of old ATM safes for scrap thinking they were solid steel, got a shock when they discovered they were concrete between steel inner & outer layers.

Ive wanted to make thermite for years but given the current alert in this country I would need a good reason.... Help me think of one..

A mate worked for a company that made cash machine parts. I went to see him at work one day and he was sanding bit's of foam down, seemed he had to wear gloves as any grease on the foam pads and the mechanism picks up to many notes! I have always wondered what a squirt of WD into the machine would do.
