also expensive here.......if it's worth 10,000 there (UK) they are asking 15,000 here....a little cheaper on the main land..
right now I'm looking for the Komatsu WB93R equiv of a JCB 3CX......
JCB's are 50% more than equiv Komatsu for some reason.....
dont want another 3CX.....mine was a late one but loads'a niggles....
it was a one owner self contractor that owned it before me low hours and very clean....
I'd buy one outta the UK but the import duty to the EU....how much god knows, cant get a definitive answer...
wanted a 2.5 ton "D" forklift...had to fly to Athens to buy one, drove it on the car ferry.....
along with the goats....hahaha...only kidding.....
same money here in Crete would buy u a f/lift anywhere between 5 n 10 years older and driven by Ben Hur.....
even so it was still more than double the UK price......

That's a huge issue in Ireland right now too, very hard to bid on a machine in auction when you can't calculate your import fees. A machine has to be really cheap in the auction to be sure it's going to be profitable.

I know of a David Brown 996 2wd in pretty good condition, power steering, front loader with forks and bucket, very good tyres all round. I am thinking of buying it purely because of the loader - is £2k a good price?

Yes, it’s all pretty good as far as a 45 year old tractor could be expected. The loader has never been repaired which I am told is a good thing, apparently lots have been plated.
I‘m trying to justify the purchase as I have a house to build so would come in handy, and also for shifting things around outside.
Anyone any ideas what sort of weight can be lifted and shifted with one?

Depending on the loader, I’d hope for at least 750kg to a little over a tonne
