Due to heavy use, and some users consistently boiling over everything, the bottom under our Sharp microwave has become a bit rusty. Normally would ignore this and hit the start button, but lately it hasn't been as fast rotating unless I add a drop of soap to help the wheels over the now not as smooth surface. Can't remember what I paid for it but got an unpleasant surprise when I noticed a similar new one is well north of £200.
Is it worth trying to derust under the turntable and paint? What kind of paint can survice in a microwave with heat and humidity and not take very long to cure?
I'm sure my hi temp engine enamel could handle it but it stinks for the first 100 miles!
